The boys started school this week. George is in 3rd and Mason is in 1st. They were pretty excited. They woke up and were ready in 5 min. When does that ever happen except for the first day of school.

Happy 5th Birthday

MJ turned 5 on Mon. the 11th. I still can't believe it. They change so much over the years and the time just flies. She is so looking forward to kindergarten. I can't believe all 3 will be in school this year. At her 5 year Dr. appt. her eyes were 20/40, so I'm taking her to the doctor on Thr. to see what they say. She might need glasses. For the last year her eyes go cross eyed when she trys to focus on things close, so it's time to find out and see what's up. And I want to find out before school, so she doesn't have a hard time seeing the boards.

I attempted to make her princess/barbie cake. It turned out pretty good for being the first time working with fondant. She chose the bright colors instead of pastel. My sister helped put it together too while she was in town, so that was fun. I think it will be fun to do as a tradition for her and change it up every year. So many ideas. I'm not really a baker, I have to be in the right mood. But I knew I wanted to do this for her this year. If you're interested in recipe's and ideas for cakes and icing go to wilton.com. I made their recipe for buttercream icing for the cupcakes and it turned out great.

We love MJ. She is so fun and so naughty at the same time. I know I'm getting a taste of my own medicine. My mom always told me to just wait and I would have a daughter just like me. And I think that for sure has happened. So not sure how I'm going to survive, I need patience lessons. When does that come?

Happy 5th Birthday our cute, adorable and spoiled Maryjane.

It's Football Season

A couple weeks ago George started tackle football. He loves it and his coach wants him to be a quarterback too which if you ask me is a lot a pressure, but he's been doing a great job. It's crazy to watch all these boys hitting and tackling eachother and the coach's are very tough with them. It's a lot of fun to watch. His team's the 49ers.

The team also has cheerleaders and MJ was asked if she wanted to do it. It's for ages 5-12. A mom volunteered to coach them and teach them cheers and a dance. MJ's a natural. I'm really surprised at how well she is doing. They practice at the same time as the football team so she has something to do that keeps her busy while we sit and watch them both practice. "Go 49er's!"

John Mayer Concert

This last Mon, the 21st, my friends and I went to the John Mayer concert. It was at the Usana Amphitheater an outdoor venue. And Colbie Caillat opened for him. It was a lot of fun. We pretty much just sat there and talked the whole time. We sat on the grass at the top, it was fun to have it casual and relaxing. When John Mayer came out everyone stood up and was dancing and never sat back down. So half way through I think, we all decided to just sit and enjoy and talk. It's what we do best. He's very good, very talented. It was a very fun night, I'm glad I have such good friends to hang out with.
John is in the white shirt that you can barely see.

July has been full of fun

So last week Jeremy's dad, stepmom and brother came to visit for a few days. We had a great time. Tue the 15th was Jeremy's birthday, the big 31, and that's the day we spent in Park City. We had a blast. The coaster ride was so much fun. I want to go back and do it again. So we spent time there doing the coaster and alpine slide and then went to the Olympic Park. We had never been there before and watched the kids there ski jump into a huge pool. My camera batteries ran out after the slides so I'm missing a few pics I wanted to take of that. At the Olympic Park 4 of us, Mark, Austin, Jeremy and I, decided to do the zip line. And can I tell you I seriously almost wet my pants at the top. The scariest thing I think I have ever done, but yet at the same time a lot of fun. But I didn't say that until we made it to the bottom. I wish I had a picture of it. We had lunch at our favorite pizza place in Park City too, Main Street Pizza. If you've never been there, try it, you'll love it. And then for Jeremy's birthday dinner we came back to American Fork and went to IHOP. It was a fun and eventful day for everyone.
Wed. we spent time at Cabela's and ate lunch there. We love there food. Mark could spend days there looking and looking and buying and buying. It's his favorite place and catalog. And then the afternoon was spent putting together the table from costco. The instructions said it would take 2 people and 45 min. But it took us 4 people and 2 hours. It was quite the process, but worth it. I love having our new table in the back yard. We love it.
The other pictures are of Seven Peaks. We went there on Thurs. We had a good time there too. Paula's cousin and their kids came with us. They live in Cedar Hills. We met them for the first time 2 years ago at a reunion in Cal. We didn't know they lived so close.
So the week was fun for sure and we are glad g'pa Mark, g'ma Paula and Austin came to visit. They need to come more often. We always have a great time with them whether it's here or in California.

Sad to say goodbye

Jeremy's grandpa passed away this week, Papa Fitzgerald. The funeral was today and the services were wonderful. It was a heartfelt tribute to his extraordinary life. He will be very much missed. He has left quite a legacy and we are so grateful to be apart of that wonderful family heritage.

4th of July, Oh My

We had a great 4th of July. We went and spent Thurs. night at Jeremy's parents house in Midway for a head start on the weekend. Jeremy took the day off for fun. On Fri. we celebrated Grandpa George's 75th birthday and had a little family reunion at a pavilion next to their house there in Midway.

Grandpa George and his hat for the occasion.

All because two people fell in love.

Mason loves his great grandma.
George and Jeter.
MJ in her cute outfit.
So when the Stadium of fire tickets went on sale a couple months ago. G'pa York tried getting tickets for the whole family, but couldn't. Then about a week or so ago he found 2 tickets online and bought them and gave them to us. This year was a really big deal. Miley Cyrus was the main act, a short concert. So when we told MJ she was so excited. It was sad to leave the family reunion/birthday party, but MJ and I took off and had a girls night out, GNO. ( that's one of her songs)
This is how the night started. A sour face. She fell asleep in the car on the way there and it took a while for her to wake back up, but she did and had a great time dancing and singing along.
Glenn Beck was the MC. He did a great job. He put on a BYU hat in this pic.

The Blue Man Group performed first and were pretty entertaining. Here's a pic of the concert. It was hard to get a good one. Hard to focus from where we were and the dark didn't help for a good picture. Oh well, you can kind of see her.

We left in the middle of the fireworks, or so I thought. MJ wanted to leave so I was all for the head start on the traffic, but the fireworks lasted another 15 min. probably after we left. They always put on an amazing show.

So thanks to G'pa York for the fun night at the Stadium of Fire. We definitely had a great time.
