Maryjane

Maryjane is our little girly girl. And finally she got her ears pierced. She was so excited and didn't even flinch. She said it didn't hurt. Either she's really tough or they've changed the gun since I had my ears done. And she got to choose the cutest pink and white daisy earrings. She's very proud of them. (I took pictures with my phone and then took pictures of the phone.)

She also has a weird foot thing that I thought would be fun to share. She stands and walks on her toes. She's been doing it ever since she could walk. Maybe someday it will come in handy. Weird huh?

Quilting

I'm taking a quilt class once a month and loving it. I've always wanted to learn. Last summer I took a class and made the cutest quilt although it's still not finished yet. But hanging on my wall anyway.

The quilt class I'm taking now is being taught by a friends mom and we are learning how to make a sampler quilt, so we are learning a different technique for each block. It's proving to be as difficult as I thought. It's hard to be perfect and exact, but I'm trying. We are making 2 blocks every month, so these are my first 2 blocks. I'm having a blast learning a new hobbie.

Silly Mason

Mason always has a laugh for us. Whenever he wears pajama pants to bed he does this and puts them over his shoulders and it looks so funny. I finally got a picture of him the other night doing it. His body is so cute and skinny. He has the cutest bum, and I can say that 'cause I'm his mom.

The other day we went out to dinner and Mason said "I know how many babies you're suppose to have." I said " Oh really, how do you know?" He said you put your thumb inside your fist and count the creases. That made Jeremy and I laugh. Good thing it's not to accurate. It was pretty darn funny though. The great things he learns at school, and I'm sure at recess.

Valentine's

We had a heart filled day. Starting off with these heart shaped doughnuts. Aren't they cute? And they were cherry flavored. Although the kids prefered the regular glazed better.
And then for lunch we had heart shaped sandwiches.
And to top off the day I made a heart shaped pizza with an angel food cake with cool whip and stawberries for dessert. The kids all had a fun filled day with parties and lots of candy. Isn't valentines great?

Sledding Fun

I finally got some sledding pictures. Every time we go I forget the camera. We have a great hill right down the road, it's perfect for the kids. They love it. And I usually sit in the warmth of my car at the bottom of the hill watching. It's been a great winter with tons of snow this year. Just wondering when is it ever going to end?

Super Bowl

Guess where Jeremy is? Fulfilling a life long dream of being at the Super Bowl. That's right he's actually there this weekend. He gets to go to a party tonight with Boys II Men and Journey. He found out last night that their tickets are on the 5th row too. Crazy. His work had a drawing about a month ago for 4 people and he got picked. He couldn't believe it and is very excited to say the least. He's going to have a great time.

Just to let everyone know, everything with the cars is working out fine and we're doing great despite the little road bump it created.

Take a look at the Mess!!

I found a picture of our accident on a news website. This is the 2nd accident after the van hit the police car. You can only see the back of our jeep, but the front looks alot like the van's smashed front end. Notice the unplowed lane, yes that's actually the lane to drive in, and notice the other lanes nice and clear. And behind the van the snow is even worse in that lane.
Thought you'd be interested to see.

What A Day!!!!!

Yesterday was a day that I wish never happened. We headed out to lunch for something to do on the Holiday before Jeremy headed out for the week. I was following him in the Jeep and we were headed north on I-15 in Draper at 123rd S. when Jeremy hit a ton of snow in our lane and spun out and then I hit the snow/slush and spun out and did a 180 and the car behind us hit our car in the front left corner. No body was hurt at all the kids thought it was pretty cool actually. We were off to the side of the road as it was but neither of our cars would go anywhere, so as soon as Incident Management came they pulled our cars so they were facing North bound again. The Highway Patrol was there in less than a minute and came and parked right behind us. Jeremy was in the Durango and he had spun out and ended up the snow bank between the highway and the off ramp up ahead of us and was fine, he ran back to us to make sure we were OK and we were. It was just the other car and ours that smashed each others front ends. So then if that's not bad enough I was sitting in the car filling out the paper work with kids still in the back seat with all there seat belts still on and Jeremy went to get his car out of the snow and go around to bring it to where we were on the highway so we could get in it to leave when it was time and BAM we got hit again. A big van did the same thing we did and slid and hit the patrol car behind us and the patrol car hit the back of our car and we hit the back of the truck that was in front of us. That hit hurt the worst. The Patrolman got hurt a little bit and thought his head was bleeding, but he wasn't, he got out and made sure we were still all OK and we were thankfully. So he got the worst of it being hit square on by the van. It was a horrible mess. And amazingly enough we all walked away 100% fine.

So here is how this all happened. We were in the second to right hand lane that can exit and go straight and we went straight, the roads were clear, wet but clear. It wasn't snowing and everything was fine but then it was as if a snow plow exited on the off ramp and left all the snow in the lane as if it ended, but that lane doesn't end it keeps on going straight and that's what we hit was the huge amount of snow right in our lane that shouldn't have been there and what else do you do but go through it and then I saw Jeremy spin out and then I saw the snow and I spun out. There were other cars that hit the snow too, but it was only the other car and ours that hit. Incident Management came pretty quick to help us but then they left for some reason and then after the second hit came there ended up being at least 10 cop cars that came to help and Incident Management came again and put up cones this time of course, I don't know why they didn't do that the first time. Anyway it was a mess, everything is working out fine so far though. We have a $300 deductible, so we are grateful for that, it's worth paying that for everything that happened. It could have been so much worse. We are just so grateful no one was hurt, except for the patrolman, but it was minor for him.

And then to top the day off and put the icing on the cake. We went and got a rental and while driving it home at 55 mph the car was just shaking like crazy. Maybe some alignment thing, but I called them as soon as we got home and then went today to trade for a car that actually worked. I need to feel a little safe after coming away from an accident like that. So we got that all worked out too.

Isn't that a great story? We still can't believe it all happened and are just so grateful and count our blessings. We definitely had guardian angels watching out for us. The boys went to school and told everyone there version of the story today and were pretty excited about it. Smashed cars to them is just the coolest and they got to be a part of it. If they only knew.

Basketball Begins

George started basketball last week and is having a great time. It's hard to get a good picture when he's moving all over. Mason was offered the chance to play but he declined. (In the first picture George is the one with the ball)

California Christmas

It's time to update our blog. Our computer has been on the fritz for a while, but it's back to being like new again thanks to Jeremy's cousin Matt. Thank you so much. I think we've all come to realize we can't live without our computers for very long. It's very nice to have it back to running normal.

We flew to California on C-mas day. The kids loved the airplane ride. MJ thinks it feels like a rollercoaster. On take off she had her hands up in the air and saying Whee. It sure beats sitting in a car for 12 hours, so all the traveling went great.

It was just a nice relaxing time to spend with family hanging out. I think the kids loved riding the 4 wheeler the most. Austin would drive and give them rides for hours at a time. And I think the adults loved playing pool and dominoes (Mexican Train) the most, at least I did.

Paula (Jeremy's stepmom) planned a surprise birthday party for Mark (Jeremy's dad) while we were there. He turned the big 50. We all wore camo and had a great time with all the family and friends that came.

Thanks to all the family, it's a christmas we will always remember. Luv Ya
