Tulip Bulbs For Sale

I went to Thanksgiving Point today to buy some tulip bulbs. They were $3/dozen. They pull up all their bulbs from their tulip festival every year and sell them to make room for all their annuals. The bulbs are from Holland, so are really good quality and they're only 1 season old. I'm excited, I've never planted bulbs before. Watching my neighbors yards with their bulbs coming up in the spring I decided I wanted to have some for next year. The only thing is you don't know what kind of tulip you're going to get until they come up. So it will be a fun surprise. I ended up only buying 2 dozen. If anyone wants me to go buy them some for their yards let me know. They said you just bring them home and put them in a cardboard box and save them until October and then plant them. The stems and leaves will dry up and snap off before you plant the bulb. I'd like to think I'll be a good gardener someday, I feel it running through my blood.

Our Little Gymnast

MJ's been waiting for this day for a long time, and it finally came. Gymnastics started yesterday. She loved it and did a great job. She gets to do it once a week for the next month and then if she decides she wants to continue then we sign her up again, and I'm sure she will want to. I'm excited for her. The boys have always had their sports that she has to go and watch and now she has her own thing to do.

Last Day of School

Yah!!! Schools out. The kids have been singing the song Schools Out for Summer from Guitar Hero. They are very excited to not have schedules and to just play all day long with their friends. The street we live on is very lively. Kids everywhere and playing outside all day long going from house to house. It needs to warm up a little bit more and then we'll start going to Seven Peaks. I haven't even told the kids yet about our passes. They are going to be very excited when I do tell them. Otherwise I wouldn't hear the end of it wanting to go everyday, so sometimes it's worth the peace until the time is right. I learned from my sister, she doesn't tell her kids when my parents are coming until they show up on the door. It saves a lot of sanity without the whining and question after question of When are they going to be here? every 10 min. So for me it would be - When do we get to go swimming? 20 x's a day, but it's not since I haven't told them yet. So I'm just a mom trying to stay sane. Ask me again at the end of summer.

Archery Range in the Backyard

We brought back from California with us Jeremy's bow from when he was 10 when we were there at Spring Break. G'pa Mel had to fix the strings and they were just sent to us last week. The boys loved shooting the bow and arrows when we were there and were so excited to bring them home. So when the strings came last week we went out and bought a target so they could practice. It's been fun. Some of the neighbor kids have come over to try too, with strict supervision and rules. The target is 2 sided and for youth and they said it would last a long time. It's a hobby I thought we never really would get into, but here it is right in our backyard. So come on over and we'll teach you how.

Memorial Weekend

The kids got to hang out with their aunts and uncles last weekend. They love them so much and are always sad to leave. Grandma and grandpa Fitzgerald got to come to their baseball games in the morning along with great g'pa and g'ma George. Then they took them back up to midway with them to spend the day. They played and played. Swam and had a bon fire to roast hotdogs and smores. Yum.

Mason's Kindergarten Program

Mason had his kindergarten program today. He did a great job. He was in the front row and I could barely see him inbetween people. It's fun to see how much they grow up each year. That's his teacher Ms. Ovard and then Mason with his best friends Jaxon and Max, and his class. I can't believe this school year is already over. One more week 'til summer break. We bought season passes to Seven Peaks this year for a great deal. So this summer will be filled with lots of waterslides and sun. The plan is to go about once a week to keep us busy. Fun, Fun!!

My latest projects

So the last couple of weeks I started making cute decor pillows. At first just for fun to see what I could come up with, and then my friends and I decided to have a boutique and sell stuff, so I made a bunch and am going to sell them tomorrow. I found square blocks for dirt cheap and put the fabric on them and they turned out great. Some are 4th of July fabrics since that's the next holiday and a few are just cute flowers with fabric I had. I'm excited to see how it goes. I'm selling them for $12 each. I named my new unofficial business Lissy Annie Crafts. That comes from my nickname that my parents called me sometimes when I was little. Whatcha think?

Scouts

George had Pack meeting last night and he earned his Wolf. Our ward got to meet in a neighbors teepee that they have in there backyard. We are very proud of him. He loves Scouts and is always wanting to work on whatever he can. He also earned a gold arrow and will earn a silver arrow next month. His den leader said that he is the only one that she's had that has earned any arrows. Pretty crazy cuz those are the easy ones. We read in his scout book that when he finishes 2nd grade or turns 9 he can start working on his Bear. So maybe he'll earn his Bear by the time he turns 9 instead. We'll see how it goes.

MJ's Preschool Program

MJ's program was yesterday and she did a great job. She had a speaking part and sang all her songs great. She is very ready for kindergarten next year, our little social butterfly.

Baseball

Baseball started a couple weeks ago. The boys love it and are doing a great job. George plays machine pitch and Mason plays coach pitch. This will keep us busy for a while.
